BABY LOSS AWARENESS WEEK 9-15 Oct
10-10-2024
During Baby Loss Awareness Week, from 9 to 15 October, we take a moment to reflect on pregnancies that don’t go as planned. For instance, 1 in 80 pregnancies is ectopic, where the embryo implants outside the uterus. This not only results in the loss of the pregnancy but also poses a life-threatening risk for the mother. Additionally, 1 in 10 pregnancies ends in miscarriage. That equates to 23 million miscarriages worldwide, or 44 every minute(!). One in 10 couples even experiences multiple miscarriages.

Doctor, embryologist, or mom?
With our research expertise, we founded the Little Miracles Foundation, an initiative to raise more awareness about pregnancy loss and, in the long term, offer parents more opportunities to investigate the reasons behind their loss. We hope this helps to alleviate some of the psychological burden that comes with such a loss.
You can help – donate to the foundation!
Together, we can ensure that more knowledge and options become available to parents who experience pregnancy loss. Every euro you donate goes directly to our scientific projects, with no interference from managers or commercial parties. Thank you for your support!
